Maintenance of Spoke Wheels

Maintenance of the spoke wheel includes the following:

Spoke tension adjustment
Inspection tool preparation: you need to prepare spoke wrenches, rim adjusting table, tension meter, centering bow and other professional tools.
Adjustment method: dismantle the wheel and mount it on the specialized calibration rim stand. Turn the wheel, if the rim has a large gap from the reference, tighten the spokes here; on the contrary, loosen the spokes. Rim somewhere to the left, then tighten the right spokes, loose left spokes, and vice versa, and finally make the whole rim everywhere from the reference gap is completely uniform, and each spoke tightness is uniform.

Hub Maintenance
Cleaning and lubrication: For ordinary bearing hubs, you can wipe clean the tower base Chikin and ratchet teeth part and re-oil it. If there is a problem with the bearings, they need to be repaired or replaced with specialized tools.
Disassembly and installation: Take Campagnolo and Fulcrum wheelset as an example, first use 2.5mm Allen wrench to loosen the locking screw on the preload adjusting cover, then use two 5mm Allen wrenches to counter-rotate and unscrew the screws on the top cover of the hub, remove the preload adjusting cover, take out the open ring and the black axle gears in turn, pull down the hub axle shaft, and then use a flat screwdriver to carefully pry out the two sides of the dust ring, clean it and oil it. Perrin and oil, then cover the dust cover, and finally press in with the hydrostatic pressure tool.

Daily Inspection and Maintenance
Appearance Inspection: Regularly check the spokes for looseness, deformation, breakage, etc., as well as the hubs for wear and rattling.
Riding Feeling: Pay attention to the stability and smoothness of the vehicle during riding, and check the spoke wheels in time if any abnormality occurs.
